How to speedrun Factorio
- The goal is to win the game as quickly as possible, by launching a rocket.
- We do this by filling in a prepared blueprint. The blueprint is carefully designed, and should generally not be "improved" upon, or stuff may break.
- Each team is in charge of building a corner of the base, and has their own discord voice channel to coordinate.
Your task
- Go to the position marked "Spiffing Power" on the map. Mine a rock or a coal rock on the way, if you can.
- Place your starter burner miner on iron or coal.
- Build stuff that is blueprinted (and only that).
- Try to build iron mining first.
- Your base's goal is to create power for the "Spiffing Science" base.
How to connect to the game
- Search for "MMP Speedrun" in the Factorio server list. Note that the game will only be visible if you use the correct version of Factorio (1.1.100, latest stable).
- Password will automatically appear here when you should join:
- If possible, connect to the dedicated Discord audio chat room for you team, using this link: Spiffing Sci & Power voice channel. Even if you do not have a microphone, being able to listen is still good.
Gameplay tips
- Your first task is to get to your team's base, and set up burner miners on iron.
- Prioritize iron production.
- Try not to take too many materials, as other people also need them.
- You can single-feed coal to burner miners and furnaces using z while holding coal.
- Rocks and especially coal rocks give huge resources for the time spent mining them. We have blueprinted concrete paths to them.
- Note that there are blueprinted concrete paths to the individual bases.
